From the Pitch to the Boardroom: GFA Wins the Sage & EFL 'Beyond Business' Challenge 🏆

At Go Football Academy, we often talk to our players about the "Elite Mindset." We tell them that success isn't just about what happens during the 90 minutes on a Sunday; it’s about the preparation, the discipline, and the willingness to push beyond your comfort zone.

Recently, I had to put that same philosophy to the test in the business world.

I am incredibly proud to announce that Go Football Academy was recently named a winner of the Sage "Beyond Business" Challenge for small businesses.

Why This Matters for Our Players and Parents

You might wonder what a business award from a global tech giant like Sage has to do with a Tuesday night training session in Leighton Buzzard or a Saturday morning in Milton Keynes.

The answer is simple: Standards.

To win this challenge, GFA had to demonstrate the same level of organisation, forward-thinking, and professional infrastructure that we bring to our coaching. Whether we are designing an S&C programme or managing our academy operations, we do it at a "Premier League" standard.

Winning this award validates our mission to provide the most professional grassroots environment in the UK.

A Special Gift from MK Dons

To cap off the win, I was honoured to receive a signed MK Dons shirt, courtesy of the team at Sage.

As an academy with deep roots in the Milton Keynes community, it is fantastic to have the support of our local professional club. At GFA, we aim to bridge the gap between grassroots football and the professional game. Seeing a global brand like Sage and a local icon like the MK Dons come together to support small businesses is exactly the kind of community spirit we foster in our squads.

What’s Next for GFA? 🦁

Winning the Beyond Business challenge is just the beginning of a massive season for us. As we look toward our St George’s Park elite trip and the launch of another exciting project, we always look to level up.

We aren't just building football players; we are building a professional culture where young players in Luton, MK, and Leighton Buzzard can thrive.

A huge thank you to Sage for the recognition and to our GFA parents and players for being part of this award-winning journey.
